At Powerful Medical, with world-class clinical partners, we are leading one of the most important shifts in modern medicine by augmenting human-made clinical decisions with artificial intelligence. Our vision is to transform the journey of cardiac patients, ensuring that every medical decision is data-driven. Leveraging Big Data, Machine Learning, and other innovative methods, we aim to provide doctors with the necessary tools for precise diagnoses and tailored patient care. We’ll also venture into a patient-oriented product soon!

The Role: You’ll play a pivotal part in shaping Powerful Medical’s creative future. You’ll have the creative freedom to reimagine and revamp our visual identity, website, sales, and investor materials, ensuring they align with our mission and resonate with our target audience. We’re pursuing a highly complex technical & scientific endeavor, but are looking to explain it effectively using sleek visuals and creatives.

The Short-Term: You’ll start by spending a lot of time with our CEO, the co-founders and executives, to fully understand every detail of the current status quo, the vision, the product, the target audience and the scientific breakthroughs. The first task will be to work with our CEO to update our investors’ pitch deck & vision presentation.

The Mid-Term: You’ll keep working mainly with our CEO & Chief Medical Officer on materials required for fundraising, customer & scientific presentations; but also take a good look at the company identity and start revamping it, along with the website. At the moment, both are too playful. We’ll most likely want to keep our “Powerful Blue #0033CC”, but want to move into a more sleek, clinical and scientific direction. A lot will revolve around visualizing data – we’re running 40+ clinical trials at the moment, and the results are amazing. In order to present the data simply, you’ll need to have a deep understanding of what it means.

The Long-Term: We don’t have a Creative Director and we presume one will crystalize eventually. We care deeply about the quality of our visuals company-wide; which includes all domains – website, product (mobile/web) and materials (commercial, events, investors, print, etc.). We’d like to unify our visual language & appearance to explain complex concepts easily. We presume we’ll be hiring more designers, where you’d contribute to their hiring & potentially become their leader.

Attributes we’re looking for in candidates

• You deeply care about how our company & products work at a foundational level, including its technical, clinical & scientific aspects.
• Pixel perfect & strong attention to detail. However, sometimes things just need to get done fast – but even then, the last 5% can still be done to perfection. You’ll have to know when to build a flamethrower and when it’s good enough to light a match.
• You’re not just a designer. You’re a though-leader. You know what’s happening in the world around you, watch the latest trends and are aware of what the top companies are doing.
• You can design, what needs designing. We understand that everyone has their strong suit; but the Pros can make anything they touch look good & self-explanatory.
• Engineering experience is a strong plus, but not a requirement.

We’re a relatively small team of 50 people with the HQ in Bratislava (SK), locations in Aalst (BE) and Chicago (US) and so far, we’re the market leader in AI-powered cardiovascular diagnostics. For example, our AI for Heart Attack diagnosis outperforms the current standard of care by 2x in sensitivity, while retaining a very high (95%+) specificity. With Heart Attacks killing 12m people annually, we’re excited to significantly reduce that statistic; and it’s at arm’s length!

We would probably start the job on a trial / per-project basis, moving into a full-time position as time progresses. Being able to spend extended time at the HQ is a plus – we have a ton of fun there.
